TECHNOPRODUCER TECHNOLOGY PROJECT

Windows Movie Maker Lesson Plans

Teacher Guide - Customizable Resource Files

TechnoProducer technology project Lights, camera, action! Produce your own movie using Windows Movie Maker. Follow the detailed instructions to film and edit your own video.

The lesson plans are divided into four parts:

  • About Windows Movie Maker
  • On the Set
  • In the Editing Room
  • Opening Night

Part 1: About Windows Movie Maker

TechnoProducer begins with activities that help your students gain an understanding of video production. To start, they view sample movies. After watching each video, they analyze the content of the story and the production techniques used.

To prepare for the creation of their own video production, students learn  how to use the video editing software Windows MovieMaker. Students import the raw footage used to make the sample movies. They edit the content by adding video effects, applying transitions, and inserting text overlays.

Part 3: In the Editing Room

Part 4: Opening Night

Students put the finishing touches on their movie. They learn how to add narration to explain each exciting event. Once the movie is complete, it is exported from the Windows Movie Maker program. This will allow the movie to be viewed using Windows Media Player. The video is then shown on Opening Night.
