save the kingdom. TechnoKnight is full of FUN
theme-based teaching ideas. |
The lesson plans are
divided into four parts:
- Knight Costume
- In the Forest of Riddles
- Map of Cyberspace
- Free the Mystic Creature

Part 1: Knight Costume
Students must go on a quest to save the
mystic creature that gives the land its health and
prosperity. But first, they need armor.
Look like a REAL knight!
Use Microsoft Word to forge a helmet and shield from a
custom template.

Part 2: In the Forest of Riddles
The quest begins when students journey into the Forest of
Riddles where they encounter the Master of Mystery. They must solve
numerous riddles using a Microsoft Access database to help him rid
the forest of mischief makers. In return for their help he has
offered to grant them the Map of Cyberspace which will help them
continue on with their quest.
Database skills are taught in a FUN
way! Students learn how to:
- view records
- add a record
- filter records
Part 3: Map of Cyberspace
Now that the Master of Mystery has
granted students the Map of Cyberspace they will use it to guide
them on the next leg of their journey.
By following the map, students
search the Internet to locate pictures and information. If they are
successful they will earn a key to help free the stolen mystic
creature.

Students must prove that
they are worthy with each item they find.
Sample Clues:
- Castledown: The
castle sunk into quicksand. Help build another one. Find
a picture of a castle.
- Sea Dungeon:
The Wizard is locked in the dungeon. Find a locksmith
who can pick the lock.

Part 4: Free the Mystic Creature
The quest is almost complete.
Students use the key to open the door to where the mystic creature
is hidden. Students now must paint a picture using Microsoft Paint.
Only then will the wizard agree to let the creature leave the castle.
