TechnoBiz: In
this technology project, students research
to find out why a famous candy-line has been
losing popularity. Adding up all the numbers
and displaying the results in a chart helps
students plan a way to make this candy #1
again. Their findings are summarized in a
detailed report.

TechnoCorrespondent: In this
technology project, students assume the role
of a correspondent traveling to a distant
location to report on a famous landmark.
They apply their knowledge of word
processing and photo editing to write a

TechnoDrama:
In this technology project, students
form video production teams and work
together to create a digital story. The
story they tell will be a re-make of a
classic nursery rhyme. As a group, students
must determine how to give the poem a
“new-spin”. Once the team has a plan, their
ideas are organized using a storyboard.
After that, actors, marionettes, or puppets
enact the action sequences. The events are
recorded using video capture devices and the
raw footage is edited using the tools in
Windows Movie Maker. The goal throughout the
activities is to produce a story that
children will enjoy today.

In this technology project, students
take part in an adventure that teaches them
about the Internet in a fun way. The
excitement starts when they search for two
missing friends lost in cyberspace,
TechnoBit and TechnoByte. Email, inter-relay
chat, and e-greetings are used to exchange
information about their whereabouts.

TechnoHero:
In this technology project, students
present information about their personal
hero. This person is someone who has made a
significant contribution, which has
positively impacted others. Using various
resources they gather facts to create a
profile of their hero. This information is
then arranged on slides to produce a
multimedia presentation.

TechnoImages:
In this technology project, students
take a journey of self-exploration. They
express their mood, style, and attributes as
art. Prior to each activity, students study
paintings created by a variety of artists as
a source of inspiration. Once their
imagination has been sparked they use the
tools in PhotoFiltre to create artwork that
reveals "who they are". After each piece is
created, students arrange the artwork in a
digital gallery. Below each picture they
offer commentary about their design
decisions, production techniques, and
meaning. Once all the artwork is completed,
the gallery is transformed into "Net Art",
which allows the digital art to be seen on
the Internet.

project, students become poets. They learn how to use word
processing software to produce a collection of poetry.
Skills such as how to format text and graphics, write using

apply this knowledge to compose poems that will make the
reader giggle and smile.

technology project, students go on a quest to rescue the
king. On their journey they help the Master of the Wood save
the Forest of Mystery. He grants them a key to the Library
of Knowledge. In the library they pair up to learn about
Medieval Times, which provides the knowledge needed to
rescue the king.

TechnoSales:
In this technology project, students use math to make
decisions about a bake sale. By using math, they are able to
answer practical questions such as: What item should be
sold? What flavors are most popular? What financial goal is
reasonable? What is a fair price to charge for each item?
How many items are needed at the sell? And how many items
does each student need to bake? Throughout this project,
students conduct a survey, organize data in a worksheet,
graph numerical data, and calculate information using
formulas.
