Educators are introduced to technology integration. To start, they consider the importance of the computer in society with a focus upon education. They read about technology integration, its importance, and instructional goals. Afterwards, educators complete a checklist about their current use of technology and integration of computers into classroom activities.
Next, educators learn about the process for designing activities that integrate technology. Four steps are outlined for curriculum development. A sample activity is then given to demonstrate the decision making that is involved when integrating technology.
|
Educators then study sample technology projects to gain an understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of technology integration as well as the technology skills required to complete the task.
