Session 2 Wags Finds a Home

Next, students play the role of an illustrator. They follow the detailed Microsoft Word lesson plans, to insert clip art into the original fairy tale, Wags Finds a Home. Your students will have fun adding pictures to the silly story of a dog who juggles to cheer up a friendly old woman.

Primary students use the Insert Clip Art tool on the custom toolbar to activate the Clip Art Gallery. Young children with limited typing and writing skills will be able to easily search for clip art as the keywords are colorfully underlined on the template. The original fairy tale, Wags Finds a Home, is illustrated using the lesson plans in TechnoAuthor.

Session 3 The Sad Princess

Primary students continue to make books using Microsoft Word. This time, they finish a fairy tale about a sad princess using a story starter template. Students complete the story by:

  • adding a decorative border
  • making up a title for the story
  • writing a reason the princess is sad
  • creating a solution that will make the princess happy
  • illustrating the story using clip art
