Ancient Egypt Lesson Plans

TechnoMummy Icon Become an Egyptologist. Discover the identity of an Egyptian mummy by studying artifacts in a Microsoft Access database. Step by step lesson plans make viewing, adding, and filtering records FUN and EASY.

Session 1 Trip to Egypt

The fun begins when a secret tomb has been discovered in the Valley of the Kings. Taking the role of Egyptologists, students have been called to the site to help identify the mummy. Using the resources provided in the TechnoMummy technology project, they travel on a virtual field trip to Egypt.

Using the Internet and an Egyptian fact sheet, students learn about Egypt. The trip events are recorded in a personal diary using a Microsoft Word template. This activity offers students an introduction to ancient Egyptian life and beliefs.

TechnoMummy include resources such as Egyptian fact sheets, bookmarked websites, and hieroglyph fonts which make this activity easy for teachers and fun for students.
