Session 2 Edit a Poem

In this session, students continue to use the template to revise the appearance of a poem. Illustrated instructions first allow students to explore and experiment with advanced formatting techniques. Students then edit the appearance of words in a poem to express the meaning visually, using color, size, and font effects.

Session 3 Edit a Story

Adding illustrations to a story or poem not only creates interest, it’s also lots of fun for students! On the third page of the template, students add clip art to the story “The Unbelievable Trip to the Store.” Step by step instructions show students how to:

  • search for and insert clip art
  • resize clip art
  • apply a picture style
  • insert a drawing canvas
  • format text wrap
  • adjust object order
