In this session, students learn HTML code to insert pictures and hyperlinks. They learn how to:

insert pictures display alternative text allow text to wrap around an image create a border add a hyperlink make a picture into a hotspot

Students investigate how search engines work. Armed with this knowledge, they add meta tags to the HTML document. These keywords and descriptions will optimize the chances of the website appearing on search engines.

Finally, students use the provided checklist to take a critical look at their page and make any edits and improvements before publication.

A variety of options are listed in TechnoHTML for uploading the web pages as well as suggestions for sharing the web pages with family and friends.

Students will be keen to share their web pages with peers. A handout is provided which allows students to critically view each others’ work and provide constructive comments.
